Zuora opened a new office in Chennai this past month and we couldn’t be more excited! Our India team plays a critical role in advancing our technology and innovation. Having grown 3X in India last year, we’re looking forward to welcoming more new ZEOs to our new office and across the region to help us continue to advance the Subscription Economy.
To mark the occasion, we pulled out all the stops. Chennai-based ZEO Azhar Hussain T S sat down with us to share more about the events and new space for ZEOs. Azhar is part of our ZEO Success Partner team and became a ZEO in January 2022.
Azhar, let’s start with all of the fun and festivities around the opening. What were the highlights?
It was a very busy couple of days, yes. But, it was so much fun to celebrate together.
One of my favorites was giving back to our community by opening a computer lab in a primary school in Chennai.
We provided the school with a computer laboratory with Wifi connection along with TVs, tables, and chairs in all the classes where students can get into digital learning mode. We also provided them with mosquito mesh in all the classes which would create a safer and more comfortable learning environment, while also promoting health and environmental sustainability.
Furthermore, the students were so joyful when we gifted them with bags, water bottles & T-Shirts on the opening day. It was a great experience all around and I am proud that the Headmistress of the school felt we have helped them raise the bar of the school positively impacting the students as they learn and grow.
Back in November,Zuora also helped to provide clean drinking water to the building through a reverse osmosis system, so it was wonderful to see the students and staff again.
We hosted an official ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of our new space.
ZEOs look on as Zuora CEO and Founder Tien Tzou marks the official opening of the new Chennai office at a ceremonial ribbon cutting.
Our Z-Women community, one of several Zuora Resource Groups (ZRG), hosted a “shark tank” or “dragon’s den” style event.
The Chennai-based members of our global Z-Women ZRG hosted this entrepreneurial event to lift up women’s voices in the technology industry by giving them a platform to share their ideas related to discovering solutions for our customers, enhancing a product, or any concept that could catalyze the future.
And, it wouldn’t be a celebration without a party.
We most enjoyed hosting ZEOs and our senior leaders for our Holi celebration where some dressed in ethnic wear and we shared our cultural traditions.
Tell us about the new office—what are your top three favorite things?
1. Jam/Collaboration Space: TVs for Zoom calls, virtual whiteboards, open space meeting areas and meeting rooms too—we have plenty of collaboration space in our new office, which is very cool. My most favorite meeting room would be Godavari, it’s cool & super stylish.
2. Focus Zones: There’s also plenty of space for ZEOs to sit quietly and have an environment that supports those deep focus days.
3. Cafe/Kitchen: This is one of the places where you could find me, if you don’t find me in my workplace. It has a magic machine, where we can get all our snacks/juices which we want for free. 😀
I’m excited to have a space to catch up with my fellow ZEOs!
What would you tell a neighbor about Zuora?
I would definitely recommend my neighbors to join Zuora, but the truth is my neighborhood, friends, and family are already eager to join because of how Zuora treats each and every ZEO. We live our values and our culture, and it has created a craving for people to work in Zuora.
What makes you most proud to be a ZEO?
I belong to a team where we have the honor of being a “success partner” next to every ZEO, which is what I’m most proud of. I am really enjoying each and every day at Zuora.
